  1. Registering for MasteringBiologyTM www.masteringbio.com

  2. Go to www.masteringbio.com Click “New Students”

  3. Answer the question: “Do you have an access code?” Select: “Yes, I have an access code” if you purchased a text with a code. “No, I need to purchase access online now” if you do not have a code. Click “Continue”

  4. If you selected “No, I need to purchase access online now,” then mouse over the book titles and click on your text. Click “Continue”

  5. Optional: Select either “Yes” or “No” if you wish to purchase access to an eBook at this time. Or you can upgrade to an eBook later. Price will be shown before purchase

  6. Read the Privacy Policy and License Agreement Click “I Accept”

  7. Select: “No, I am a New User” if this is your first Pearson product. “Yes, Look Me Up” if you already have another Pearson account. Enter your unique Access Code. Enter your Zip or Postal Code and Country. Click “Next”

  8. Enter School Name, School City, School State Enter First Name, Last Name, and E-mail Address Scroll down

  9. Create a Login Name and Password Confirm Password Select a Security Question and answer it Click “Next”

  10. Congratulations! You have successfully created a Login and Password. Click “Log In Now”

  11. Enter your Login Name and Password Click “Log In”

  12. If your instructor has not given you a Course ID, select a book and click “Go to Study Area”.

  13. Study Area Only: If you don’t have a Course ID, you can use the Study Area activities. You can Join a Course later if your instructor gives you a Course ID.

  14. If your instructor has given you a Course ID and instructions for entering a Student ID, then enter the Student ID and Course ID information. Click “Save” and “OK”

  16. See “Constants,” “Tools,” and “Help”

  17. Click “Assignment List” to view instructor assignments. (Applies if you received a Course ID). Your instructor’s welcome message appears here.

  18. Click “Introduction to MasteringBiology” to learn how to use the program.

  19. These items will explain how to navigate in the program, how to input answer types, and how you can expect to be graded. Click “Welcome!”

  20. Read the question and answer all the parts as instructed.
