  1. Registering for MasteringPhysicsTM www.masteringphysics.com

  2. Go to www.masteringphysics.com Click “New Students”

  3. Answer the question: “Do you have an access code?” Select: “Yes, I have an access code” if you purchased a text with a code. “No, I need to purchase access online now” if you do not have a code. Click “Continue” Click “Continue”

  4. If you selected “No, I need to purchase access online now,” select Outside U.S. & Canada to see available books, mouse over the book titles and click on your text. Select book to continue

  5. Optional: Some texts come with eBooks. Select either “Yes” or “No” if you wish to purchase access to the eBook at this time. You can upgrade to an eBook later. Price will be shown before purchase. Click “Continue”

  6. Read the License Agreement and Privacy Policy Click “I Accept”

  7. Select: “No” if this is your first Pearson product. “Yes” if you already have another Pearson account. Or “Not Sure.” Create a Login Name and Password. Confirm Password. Enter your unique Access Code. Click “Next”

  8. Enter First Name, Last Name, and E-mail Address Enter School Country, Zip Code, School Name Scroll down

  9. Select a Security Question and answer it. Click “Next”

  10. Congratulations! You have successfully created a Login and Password. Click “Log In Now.”

  11. Enter your Login Name and Password Click “Log In”

  12. Some books contain a Study Area. If you don’t have aCourse ID, select a book and click “Go to Study Area.”

  13. Study Area Only: If you don’t have a Course ID, you can use the Study Area activities. You can Join a Course later if your instructor gives you a Course ID.

  14. If your instructor has given you a Course ID and instructions for entering a Student ID, then enter the Student ID and Course ID information. Click “Save” and “OK”

  16. See “Constants,”“Periodic Table,” and “Help”

  17. Click “Assignments” to view instructor assignments. (Applies if you received a Course ID).

  18. Click “Introduction to MasteringPhysics” to learn how to use the program.

  19. These items will explain how to navigate in the program, how to input answer types, and how you can expect to be graded. Click “Welcome!”

  20. Read the question and answer all the parts as instructed. Click “myeBook” for access to full text.
