  2. Lesson1 The Cycladic Culture • There are 200 islands located east of the Greek. • The people there are farmers. • In 2000 B.C. the Cycladic culture began to weaken. • In 3000 B.C. the Cycladic culture began on the islands.

  3. lessan1 The Minoan Culture • In 2000 B.C. the Minoans began to build large. • Minoan culture began as an agricultural in society. • By using a process they learned from civilizations. • Minoans may have used a language other than Greek.

  4. Lesson1:The Mycenaean and Trojan • In 1300 B.C. they built palaces in Mycenae. • In 1200 B.C. the Mycenaean culture suddenly came to an end. • The Trojan farmed ,raised horses ,and herded sheep. • Mycenaeans left the horses at the gates of Troy.

  5. Lesson2 the Rise and Sparta • Villages grew into cities around the acropolis. • They walled forts for safety during enemy attacks. • The Geek peninsula in the 1100s B.C. • 30-member council that governed Sparta in times peace.

  6. Lesson2 the Athens and Greek • Solon divided the Athenian people into classes. • Most Athenian slaves were people from neighboring. • The Greek believed that their gods, led by Zeus. • Writing also helped bring the city-states together.

  7. Lesson3 the Persian and Pericles • The Greek city-states fought over land and trade. • In 480 B.C. the Persians again invaded the Balkan Peninsula. • In 460 B.C. Pericles was elected as a leader. • In 457 B.C. Pericles gave male citizens of any class.

Lesson3 the Achievements and the End of the Golden age • The Pericles was a patron or supporter of learning. • During the Golden age scientists studied nature and human life. • Pericles wanted to make Athens not only the school of Greece. • In 431 B.C. Sparta and its allies in the Peloponnesian.

  9. Lesson4 the Making and Building of an Empire • Alexander was born in 356 B.C. • Alexander was interested in many subjects. • One by one Alexander conquered the cities. • In 333 B.C. Alexander and his army had reached the coast of Syria.

Alexander and his army were on the move again. • By the time he reached Babylon, Alexander was already planning new expeditions. • Alexander the Great and his army came came into contact. • The huge library at Alexandria Egypt contained more than 500,000 scrolls.
