  2. Question 1 • Write an equivalent ratio to 2:3. 4:6 6:9 Etc…..

  3. Question 2 • 12 is 20% of what number? 12 = 20 x 100 12*100 = 20*x 1200 = 20*x ÷ 20 ÷20 60 = x

  4. Question 3 • Find 12% of 80. x = 12 80 100 x*100 = 12*80 100x = 960 ÷ 100 ÷100 x = 9.6 12% * 80 .12 * 80 9.6

  5. Question 4 • Determine the missing value. 24*500 = 32*x 12000 = 32*x ÷ 32 ÷32 375 = x

  6. Question 5 • Write the ratio as a unit rate: $72 for 6 shirts $12 for 1 shirt

  7. Question 6 • Jim drove 288 miles in 4.5 hours. Mary drove 260 miles in 4 hours. Who drove at the fastest rate of speed? 288 mi in 4.5 hr = 64 mi per hour 260 mi in 4 hr = 65 mi per hour

  8. Question 7 • If 1 inch is approximately 2.54 centimeters, how many centimeters are equal in length to 6.5 inches? 1 in = 6.5 in 2.54 cm x 1*x = 2.54*6.5 1*x = 16.51 ÷ 1 ÷1 X = 16.51 cm

  10. Question 9 • The ratio of boys to girls in a class is 1:4. If there are 20 students in the class, how many are boys? If boys to girls is 1:4, that means that there is 1 boys out of every 5 kids. 1 boy = x boys 5 kids 20 total kids 1*20 = x*5 20 = x*5 ÷ 5 ÷5 4 boys = x

  13. Question 12 • Cane Middle School held a car wash as a fundraiser. Out of the 25 vehicles that were washed, 17 were cars. What percent of the vehicles were cars? 17 out of 25 17 (change to percent) 25 68%

  14. Question 13 • Melissa’s paycheck last week was $144. She would like to put 22% of her earnings in her savings account. How much money should she put in her savings account? 22% of 144 .22 * 144 $31.68

A total of 130 kids chose basketball. All together there are 200 kids. Golf: 70/200 = 35%

  19. Question 18 • At the ski park each lift holds 3people, and there are 5 lifts. The lift takes 10 minutes. There are still 150 people in the line, and the lift closes in exactly one hour. Will all the people be able to ride the lift? Justify your answer. 1 lift holds 3 people and there are 5 lifts, 15 people can ride at once. They can move 15 people every 10 minutes. 15 people = 150 people 10 min x min 15* x = 150*10 15*x = 1500 ÷15 ÷15 X = 100 minutes—(which is 1 hr and 40 min) no, they will not make it
