  2. BRAC Transportation Update Background: • $300 million secured in FY’10 Defense Appropriations bill • ½ to Bethesda, ½ to Ft. Belvoir

  3. BRAC Transportation Update Projects to be funded at Belvoir: • $130 million for Rt. 1 widening • Widen from FX Parkway to Buckman Rd. • $15 million for flyover at Newington • Off I-395 into the Nat. Geospatial Agency • $5 million for comprehensive transit study

  4. BRAC Transportation Update Status Update: • Defense Subcommittee staff are working to put language in the upcoming Supplemental bill to send the money to the USDOT • Technical hurdles remain, but DoD understands congressional intent and is assisting

  5. BRAC Transportation Update Related Issues: • Defense Access Roads (DAR) Audit • Effort to redefine DAR criteria
