  1. 4th Grade Parent Orientation Transition to Chagrin Falls Intermediate School 2014/2015 School Year

  3. Students will receive 80 minutes of Language Arts, 80 minutes of Math, and 80 minutes of science/social studies • Encore classes will be on a 6 day rotation • Classes are ½ hour SCHEDULE

  4. Art ENCORE CLASSES

  5. Physical Education ENCORE CLASSES

  6. Guidance Counseling ENCORE CLASSES

  7. Music ENCORE CLASSES

  8. Library ENCORE CLASSES

  9. Tech ENCORE CLASSES

  10. Inclusion Classes • Gifted/Advanced • Advanced Language Arts and Math tracks • Superior Cognitive • Services through Gary Dole, Gifted Teacher • Identified through testing • If students are struggling: • Work to level the playing field through support services • RTI (Response to Intervention) • Our plan to respond • 3 tiers of support (math and reading) • Intervention/Enrichment Period (built in time) • 504 plans • Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) Class Structure

Daily for students to receive additional help where they may need it • It is not new instruction or a study hall • Flexible time for students to get organized, receive individualized attention, and have some breathing room • Students may work as a class, as small groups, or individually Intervention/Enrichment

  12. Students pack or buy, sit in tables of eight with their peers (all of the 4th grade), and healthy options are available (such as smoothies, whole grains, romaine, spinach, etc.) Lunch

  14. PAWS (People Always Willing to Serve) • Bike Club • Select Choir • Rocket Club • Student Council • Book Club • Leggo Club • Strings • 4th Grade Opportunity • Will be before school this year Extra-Curricular

  15. Infinite Campus • Everything can be accessed on the school’s database system, Infinite Campus • Grades • Report Cards (no longer receive paper copies) • Weekly E-Blast on Fridays • Voicemail and e-mail Communication

The Lemonade War • By Jacqueline Davies • Students are REQUIRED to read this book and complete a story map • Story Map includes: • Title of the book and author/genre • Setting • Description of one main character • Major problem/solution to the problem • Describe another main character • Summarize plot Summer Reading Book

  17. August 11th • Drop off forms (all forms found online), pay school fees, and get homeroom teacher assignments • Completed in 3 shifts • 10:00-12:00  Last names A-L • 12:00-2:00 Last names M-Z • 5:00-6:00  Anyone who has not yet come • August 13th • Walk-Through @ 2:00 Dates to Remember
