  2. 5 Facts • In august 1945, the United States of America dropped two atomic bombs on two of japans cities and this was the marking first impact for nuclear impact from nuclear energy. • When a nuclear explosion occurs, the radiation from the explosion can remain in the atmosphere for decades and can travel far distances before it will descend and settle into the ground. • There was a nuclear power plant disaster in Pennsylvania’s three mile island and the disaster exposed 2 million nearby residents to low-risk radiation but it wasn’t harmful. • The peace symbol back then was initially designed for the Direct Action Committee against nuclear war. • The worst nuclear power plant disaster in history was in Ukraine in 1986, killing about 30 residents

Enrico Fermi • Enrico Fermi was born in Rome September 29, 1901 • He spent 4 years at the university of Pisa, gaining his doctor's degree in physics in 1922. • In 1938, Enrico was the greatest expert on neutrons and he also became an American citizen. • Enrico Fermi was also an inventor and her invented the nuclear reactor. • He was an Italian physicist that made contributions to the development of the quantum theory, statistical mechanics, and particle physics.

Pros One benefit to nuclear energy is that just one uranium fuel pellet is the size of an adults smallest finger and it contains a lot of energy, this also will reduce the amount pollution in the air because we are using less resources. Nuclear energy provides 20% of the nations base load power with fewer CO2 emissions than all fossil forms. Also nuclear plants don’t require a lot of space and they must be built on a coast and they don’t need a large plot unlike wind farm. As long as no radiation is being emitted from the reactors it wont cause that many problems for earth or its inhabitants.

  5. CONS The cons about nuclear energy disasters is that it causes pollution and it also harms the environment and every living thing in the area. Also nuclear accidents can spread radiation producing particles through a wide spread area and these particles can harm the cells of the body and make you sick or even cause death . It is very expensive and when you build a nuclear power station, its usually too expensive so they wont tear it down, but actually they usually never decommission any nuclear power stations ever.
