  2.  For centuries, a mushroom has been a part of medicines. The west has now discovered and marketed mushrooms as a miracle food. In earlier times, mushrooms treated anything from asthma to gout. Mushroom is called food fit for the gods because of the variety of nutrients. Mushrooms are preventive cancer medicine. There are around two thousand species of edible mushrooms. Only a few mushrooms like shitake, Maitake, button mushrooms, etc., are popular. Mushrooms have evolved from being a culinary delight to use in pharmaceutical companies. Mushrooms are a boon for those watching their weight as they have very few calories.   3. Some mushrooms and their medicinal benefits:Lion’s mane- Lion’s mane mushroom is beneficial for brain functions. Lion’s mane mushroom has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
