Propaganda • Ideas or statements that are often false or exaggerated and that are spread in order to persuade others
Bandwagon • says that everyone else is buying the product or service
Testimonial • uses famous people to support the product or service
Emotional Appeal • promotes fear, hope, or other emotions
Plain Folks • shows people like you
Snob Appeal • suggests you will be fashionable or trendy
Name Calling • Negative words are used to create an unfavorable opinion of the competition in the viewer's mind
Lawrence Welk Show • A long-lived and popular musical program which had massive appeal in the post-WWII era
Eavesdropped • Listened in to a conversation meant to be private
Seniority • A method of recognizing the right to those with the most years of employment in a work place to first choice in important things (such as overtime)
Vittles • In country dialect, the word for food
Wilier • Craftier; slyer (from wily)
Whirlpool • Water moving in a violent spiral at the point where currents meet
Raising Cain • Causing trouble; making a great deal of noise
