  1. Bell Ringer Get out a blank sheet of paper (or get one from the front table). Title your paper “Prejudice Survey” but do not head your paper. DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME ON THIS. Write the following sentence and choose the word that makes it most correct to you: Racism is something you are born with something you are taught You are not graded on your feelings. Disagreeing with your teacher doesn’t mean you have the wrong answer today. Choose one!

  3. Survey Question 1 Where do you find prejudice in the world around you? Think about family conversations, jokes you have shared with friends, the lyrics of popular songs, and the social cliques at school. You have four minutes to write down three examples of prejudice that you may have hardly noticed before.

I need you to be honest; I will not read this if you put a huge star next to your chart. However, having honest answers here is essential. You have four minutes to fill in the chart with at least four groups of people and your honest attitudes towards those people.
