  1. ACDM General Membership Meeting 16th AnnualConference Reno/Tahoe, Nevada 23 March, 2011

  2. Agenda • Status • Challenges • Future Plans

  3. ACDM General MembershipBusiness Meeting – The Board • President – Cynthia Hauer • Vice President for Services – Joe Roman • Vice President for Education – Vacant • Secretary – Vacant • Treasurer – Ram White • CM Chair – Brian Roeder • DM Chair – Rachel Verdugo • Board of Governors • Pete Nance • Steve Easterbrook • Thad Henry (incoming) • Donett Murphy (incoming) • Vacant

  4. Trends • Average age on the EB is ~56 • Tenure ranges from <1 year to >20 years • Most of us are paying for our participation ourselves • Conferences are attracting about 10 - 15% of the ACDM membership • …others to add, Joe and Ram?

  5. ACDM General MembershipBusiness Meeting – Treasurer's Report • (Ram, need your $ and associated numbers – and do you want to do the treasurer’s report yourself or have it in these slides?)

  6. Challenges • Membership numbers are static • We would expect to see them growing, and we are looking hard at why they are not • $40 is a reasonable membership fee • Some members will not pay that, themselves, and their organizations will not pay it, either, it seems • The organization is being hurt by the state of the economy • Conference attendance • BOG participation • ACDM can flourish if it serves the needs of the target community • We are looking at additional and different ways to do that • We may streamline the BOG by considering downsizing and re-organizing resources and responsibilities • We have operating funds, and they are very closely managed Some challenges are plain – others are complex – and some are in tension with others.

  7. Forward Path • Maintain plans for the next 3 conferences • Hotel contracts are in place for Sandestin, FL (2012), Walt Disney World, FL (2013), and Savannah, GA (2014) • We will not do a look-ahead for 3 years’ advance planning until 2013, and then only if we see growth and thus reduced risk • Selective presentations that support carefully chosen themes and activities (roundtables, workshops, and other approaches that yield positive feedback) • Becoming more proactive in soliciting new members • Devoting a BOG position to membership • Reviewing the cost structure of membership and conference attendance • Expanding the concept of regional symposia • New website is debuting in April to better serve the membership WE BELIEVE THERE IS A PLACE IN THE CDM COMMUNITY FOR ACDM!

  8. What we do is crucial to the organizations we support! WE BELIEVE THERE IS A PLACE IN THE CDM COMMUNITY FOR ACDM!

  9. Discussion • Questions? • Comments? • Suggestions? • Volunteers?
