  2. Course Registration The classes that you choose in the next few days are VERY important. Please read ALL provided materials and follow instructions carefully. You will register for next year’s classes ONLINE using Skyward. The following presentation with help you navigate through the process.

  5. STEP 2: Course Preference Card Inside your instruction packet you will find an example on how to complete your course preference card. A sample has been provided. Remember, you will use the separate Career Center/ Dual Credit course preference card to select these courses. STEPS TO REGISTER

  6. Your CC/ DC course card must be turned in with your LHS course preference card if requesting these courses. • All courses on your CC card are worth 2 credits. This is important because each student will need to have selected 8 credits worth of courses by the end of this process. • CC courses are NOT to be chosen as ALTERNATES. CAREER CENTER DUAL CREDIT

  7. Use the Course Description Guide found online at http://cdg.lisd.netto follow your graduation plan. Counselors have provided you with an individualized transcript containing your remaining required core courses for graduation. These are suggestions to help guide you with your selections. You will then select your desired electives. This transcript also provides you with already completed courses and includes courses currently enrolled in for this semester. Please Do NOT request any completed passed course. Select the next course in sequence for English, Math (math chart in packet), Science and Social Studies. Mark them on your course preference card as you identify the next sequence.

English (4 cr): I, II, III, IV or Adv English Math (4 cr): Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, one additional math Science (4 cr): Biology and one other physical science (IPC, Chemistry or Physics) *The third and fourth credit can be from any other science course offered. Social Studies (3-4 cr): World Geography*, World History*, US History, Government/Economics *Depending on your endorsement or college requirements Physical Education(1 cr) Foreign Language (2 cr) In the same language Fine Arts (1 cr) Electives (6-7 cr) As needed (Endorsement) Total 26 State Credits Graduation Requirements at a Glance

Typical Junior Level Cores are:English 3, Algebra 2 or next sequence of math, Physics and U.S. History. • Remember, utilize your transcript to review credits earned and courses needed. • Also, remember to select 2 credits of foreign language, 1 of a fine arts, and 1 PE if you have not taken these already. Juniors

  10. Correct number of courses selected • You must have 8 CREDITS worth of courses SELECTED! Use the planning sheet in your packet to help track the appropriate number of credits. • Alternates • Minimum of Two 18 week credits/ Two 9 week credits---total of 4 alternates. COURSE PREFERENCE CARD

Read your information packet carefully and review courses in the CDG before finalizing your course choices. • Use your transcript to identify needed courses for graduation. • After you have finished filling in your course preference card, you are ready to log into Skyward and choose your classes! ☺ Tips

  13. Materials to be turned in: Once you have entered your selections into Skyward we ask that you also turn in your course preference card(s) to your advisory teacher. LHS Course Preference Card (signed by parent/guardian/ student) Turn in if requesting from: Career Center/ Dual Credit card (signed by parent/guardian/ student)

Make good choices for you! • Students- ask your teachers, coaches, counselors, and other adults questions. • Parents- please review your students course selections for next year. • Important: • Your online registration submission implies student and parental approval of course selections for next year.

  15. We design the Master Schedule based on the courses you are choosing right now! We will ask you to honor those choices. • BE SURE TO CHOOSE COURSES CAREFULLY! These WILL be your courses for next year. YOU NEED TO KNOW
