  12. Neil Armstrong

  13. Neil A Armstrong comamanded the Gemini 8 mission and became the first human to walk on the moon as commander of appollo 11.

  14. He was born in Wapakoneta Ohio, on August 5,1930.

  15. He received a bachelor of Science degree from Purdue university and

  16. A master of Science degree from the University of Southern California.

  17. Armstrong joined the Navy and flew as a Naval Avaitor from 1949 to 1955.

  18. In 1955 he joined the National Advisory committee for flight propulsion Laboratory and later was transferred to high speed Flight station at edward Air force base ,California, as a civilian pilot for NASA and NACA. Edward Air Force Base,in California

  19. Among the Aircrafts he tested the X-15 rocket plane.

  20. On July 16 Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong ,Buzz Aldrin,Michale Collins departed for the moon.

  21. Four day’s later , Armstrong and Aldrin landed their Lunar Module in the sea of tranquility.

  22. Armstrong and then Aldrin stepped, onto the surface and became the first human to leave their footprint in the lunar dust.

  23. They explored the surface and gathered moon rocks for over two hours.

  24. The next day they fired off the surface and rejoined Collins in the orbiting mother ship.
