  4. CSA Classifications Type I CSA designates SRLs that are under 10 ft. in length as a Type I CSA test is for an Arrest distance of 1 m (39 inches = 1 m) Device passes as long as it holds together Not required to have an impact indicator

CSA Classifications Type II CSA designates SRLs more than 10 ft. in length as Type II CSA test requires the arrest distance to be limited to 1.4 m (54 inches) The MAF must be reduced to 8 kN (1800 lbs.) CSA test is for an Arrest distance of 1.2 m (48 inches) Device passes if it de-energizes the fall force to an MAF of 1800 lbs. or less Required to have an impact indicator

  7. Basic Methods of Use Works on velocity Models range in weight usage up to 310 lbs (some manufacturer’s models up to 420 lbs) Many will stop your fall in inches/feet (This is not the CSA standard)
