Spain. By Morgan Ogilvie. History. In 218 BC. The Roman Empire had control of the area of what is now called Spain. After the Roman Empire fell, Spain was ruled fore a while my the Visigoths (a germanic tribe) And then the Muslim Moors who invaded from North Africa.

History • In 218 BC. The Roman Empire had control of the area of what is now called Spain. • After the Roman Empire fell, Spain was ruled fore a while my the Visigoths (a germanic tribe) And then the Muslim Moors who invaded from North Africa. • In the 16th century, Spain was one of the most powerfull empires in the world.
Land and Climate • Spain is a penisula (a body of land covered by water in three places) in Europe that is twice the size of Oregon. • The longest river in Spain is the Ebro • Each area of Spain has a different climate, like in the North Eastern coast has moderate climate with a normal amount of rain.
Economy • Industry is a big part of Spains economy. • Spains currency is Euro. • I’m sorry, but I have absoluty no idea what Spains exange rate is.
Flora and Fauna (Plants and Animals) • Spain has a variaty of both plants and animals, according to each different region.
People • The Population is about 46.8 Million. • Spain’s population density is one of the lowest in Europe. • The Natianal languge is Castilian Spanish (A very big surpise, I know)
Products • Spain is a very agricultural contry. • Some of Spains pruducts are Tomato’s, Weat, Olives, Grapes, and corks. • Spain is the Worlds largest olive oil producer, and europes largest producer of Lemons, Oranges and Strawberry’s.
Games/Sports/Pastimes • Soccor (Futbol) is by far, the most popular sport in Spain. • Other pastimes include, Swiming, Bikeing, Hiking, Fishing, Hunting, and Sking. • Bull fighting is consitered an Art rather than a sport.
Holidays/Traditons • Spain celibrates many different Holidays in the year, but I’m going to save time and only talk about ONE of them. • La Timatina is a festival that is held in Bunol, Spain. Its basicly a festival were you get to throw tomatos at each other and not get in trouble
Food • Like many people in Europe, The people of Spain go shopping every day for their meals. • Some famous dishes include, Gazpacho, Arros Negre, Cocido, Churros, and a personal favorite of mine, Paella.
