Vocabulary Grade Three
Government A group of citizens who make the rules for a: Country City Town State County
Vote To choose or say what you think a group should do.
Law A rule that helps to make a community a safe place to live.
Local Having to do with a particular city, town or small community.
State Having to do with a particular area of a country.
Federal Having to do with a country
A government runs our country. Citizens of the United States vote for people who make the laws that we all live by. Cities have Local Governments. Georgia has a State Government and the United States has a Federal Government. Each level has different duties to the citizens of this country.
