  3. PA-Educator.net • PA-Educator is an online clearinghouse database for Pennsylvania certificated professional employees who are interested in working in the schools of the Commonwealth WWW.PA-EDUCATOR.NET

  4. PA-Educator.net • Purpose: To make it easier for instructional and administrative applicants to apply for jobs and for school districts to find them WWW.PA-EDUCATOR.NET

  5. PA-Educator.net • “Working Together Consortium” A group of Western Pennsylvania Civic and Business leaders looking at what needed to occur to attract Business and Industry to the Western Pennsylvania area. WWW.PA-EDUCATOR.NET

  7. PA-Educator.net June 30, 1998 • The Grable Foundation approved a grant of $75,850 to the AIU for the development of an online teacher clearinghouse WWW.PA-EDUCATOR.NET

  8. PA-Educator.net December 1998 • Demonstration of the clearinghouse at a meeting of Foundation officials resulted in grants totaling $310,000 to make the clearinghouse operational WWW.PA-EDUCATOR.NET

PA-Educator.net Applicants • Complete the Standard PA application online • Compose a letter of interest, resume, and required state essay as word documents and cut and paste them into text fields • Send the remaining required documents to PA-Educator which are scanned and linked to their application WWW.PA-EDUCATOR.NET

PA-Educator.net Required documents that constitute a complete file include: • PA Act 34 (Criminal Record Check) • PA Act 151 (Child Abuse Clearance) • PA FBI Background Check (effective 4/1/07) • 3-6 Letters of Recommendation • Transcript(s) • Copy of PA Professional Certificate • Praxis Scores WWW.PA-EDUCATOR.NET

  12. PA-Educator.net School Districts • Find applicants two ways using the clearinghouse: • Post jobs on the Job Opportunities page. Applicants express their interest in jobs for which they are certificated by clicking an “interested” button which instantly sends their application and required documents file to a District’s HR Office. PA-Educator.net • Districts can also query the database for qualified applicants using specific criteria such as certification area, undergraduate GPA, years of teaching experience, degree level, geographic area (via county), complete records, etc. Getting results of the query takes 3-5 seconds.   18. PA-Educator.net September 2000 • The Grable Foundation funded an independent evaluation of the program after its first full year of operation • The average savings the first year for the 47 school districts that participated in the study was between $15,000 - $16,000 WWW.PA-EDUCATOR.NET
