Induction , Training & Development • An induction program is the process used within many businesses to welcome new employees to the company and prepare them for their new role. • Training is the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and competencies as a result of the teaching of vocational or practical skills and knowledge that relate to specific useful competencies. • Human Resource Development is the framework for helping employees develop their personal and organizational skills, knowledge, and abilities.

Performance Appraisal • The process by which a manager or consultant (1) examines and evaluates an employee's work behavior by comparing it with preset standards, (2) documents the results of the comparison, and (3) uses the results to provide feedback to the employee to show where improvements are needed and why.

  12. Compensation & Benefit • Compensation is the total amount of the monetary and non-monetary pay provided to an employee by an employer in return for work performed as required • Benefits are optional, non-wage compensation provided to employees in addition to their normal wages or salaries.

  13. Employee Relation • Employee Relations is a discipline which deals with maintaining employer-employee relationships which contribute to efficient productivity, motivation, and morale. It is also concerned with the prevention of and resolution of problems which involve individuals and arise out of or affect work situations.
