  3. Introduction Over the last 4 Years the Munster Council has distributed €6.7 million in grants based on €39 million spent by clubs. This figure does not include monies granted towards Major County Grounds. Recommendations on eligible grant applications are made by the Councils Planning and Physical Development Committee to the Munster Council.

  4. County Grant Payments 2008-11 MSA

Grant Categories Category 1 - Purchase of ground for playing pitch (including first, second or third pitch) – 15% of eligible Expenditure to a maximum of €15,000 Category 2 - Construction of new Dressing Rooms only or Extension of existing Dressing Rooms Only- 15% of eligible Expenditure to a maximum of €16,000 Category 3 - Schools Grounds Purchase & Development - 15% of eligible Expenditure to a maximum of €5,000 Category 4 - Handball Court - Construction - 15% of eligible Expenditure to a maximum of €5,000. Refurbishment - 20% of eligible Expenditure to a maximum of €2,500 Category 5 - County & Major Grounds Development Category 6 - Other Club Development Project - 20% of eligible Expenditure to a maximum of €30,000 Category 7 - Sanding Grant Scheme – 50% of Eligible Costs to a maximum of €2000.

  6. Application Process The closing date for grant applications, shall be the last Friday, in September - 2012 - Fri 28th Sept. Application form available on Munster Council Website http://munster.gaa.ie/clubs/gaa-development-grants/ Late applications shall be re-submitted for processing and approval the following year. Applications for grants shall only be considered from County Boards, affiliated clubs and schools, within the province of Munster. Only work completed and paid for since closing of previous years grant scheme can be claimed.

  7. Documentation Required Fully completed application form giving all particulars required in relation to Vesting of Ground and Deed of Trust and Health and Safety Statement. The responsibility to ensure that the vesting and Deed of Trust are in place and up to date rests with the County Development Officer and the County Board rep on the Munster Planning & Development Committee. Supporting documentation of a financial nature: including stamped receipts (not statements or copy cheques) detailing the nature and vouching all expenditure amounts claimed

Documentation Required Bank statements to support any claimed overdraft situation deemed relevant to the application Any other documentation deemed necessary to support an application under any category from time to time. N.B This includes details of other funding received for the project e.g Lottery, Leader Funding and including Insurance Payments. Certification and recommendation of the County Board Development Officer and the Board representative on the Planning & Development Committee of the Provincial Council

  9. Non –Allowed Costs Only expenditure of a capital nature (providing a long term asset) is eligible for support under the Grant Schemes. Expenditure on ongoing maintenance and repairs is excluded as follows:   Grass Cutting Servicing of maintenance equipment including mowers and tractors Fertiliser and weed killer purchases. Boots for FAS workers.

  10. Non –Allowed Costs Maintenance or painting of existing premises, glass breakages, plumbing or electrical repairs etc. Oil, Diesel, Gas or ESB. Lease or rent of temporary facilities Consultancy fees on preparation of Lottery submissions Purchase of equipment including Tractors etc.
