History is • Chronology: putting people, periods and events in the right order • Enquiry: asking and answering questions about history and investigating problems – reason people study history is because they have question about the past that they want answers to. • Using sources: Sources are things left from the past • All sorts of things are sources; documents (written), pictures, buildings, artefacts, skeletons. • Using sources carefully. Deciding whether we can trust what they say. • Sometimes uncertain. We can’t find definitive answers in history because we don’t have enough sources.
