Duration of stages of planning STAGE 1: SUBJECT FRAMEWORK (GR.10-12) • 3-year plan including Grades 10, 11 and 12 STAGE 2: WORK SCHEDULE (PER GRADE) • 1-year (40-week) plan per grade STAGE 3: LESSON PLAN (PER TEACHER) • Not determined by the length of a school period, but by the amount of time it takes to complete the coherent set of activities contained in it • Varies from teacher to teacher

  4. Development of a Learning Programme

  5. A Subject Framework consist of broad guidelines, which assists a teacher in determining what should happen in a subject across the three grades 10 -12. It is a plan that ensures that learners achieve LO’s and AS’s for the Band over the three years in a specific subject. It also plans other aspects that need to be in place to support curriculum implementation. Subject Framework

  6. Work Schedule It is a yearlong schedule for specific subjects for a specific grade that shows how teaching, learning and assessment is sequenced and paced. Other aspects that will support curriculum implementation also included and planned.

  7. Lesson Plan It describes concretely and in detail the teaching, learning and assessment activities that are to be implemented in a given period of time (classroom-based activities). It includes the “how” of teaching learning and assessment. A lesson plan could range in duration from a single activity to longer periods. It is based on the LOs and ASs and how these are to be dealt with.
