HV-LV & DCS Status
This update outlines the current status of the DCS systems for the CMS project, including the completion of prototypes for the endcap and barrel. HV-LV status • First batch has been delivered at CERN (Jan 06) send at BLG 904 this week • Test station for LV boards at BLG 904 under construction (PC, cable…..) • HV boards are under test in Napoli • Second batch in middle of Feb 06 • Ready for Cosmic Challenge in March 06 • No problems seen up to now (2 BC and 6 boards) • Lomidze will be at CERN for the final test for CC. DCS status I • We are ready to release the first version of the Endcap DCS and the third version of the Barrel DCS. • They will be integrate in the CMS DCS in the next weeks. • More developing and test will be done before the Cosmic Challenge using the final HD setup in Napoli and at BLG 904. RPC DCS status II • After the Dec 05 meeting we decide to reorganize the RPC monitoring group involving a more RPC oriented person in the LB monitoring. • We are in touch with Tuure for a phd position for G. Polese with a doctoral position at CERN. • Giovanni will work on PVSS (with Anna and myself) and XDAQ monitoring (with Warsaw people and myself). • It is very important to integrate him as soon as possible in the XDAQ project. Next Steps • We need a meeting with Endcap and Barrel people about the DCS-HV-LV plan for the Cosmic Challenge where to define how many EASY crate, boards…..we want to use. • Order 48V AC/DC converts (budget ??) • G.
