  1. PBIS – Positive Behavior Intervention System - Teachers will go over this with your child the first few days of school. These expectations will be reinforced throughout the school year. Thank you for talking to your child about the expectations as well.

Coming and Going Respect-Orderand Safety-Attitude-Responsibility • Enter and exit cars curbside only on Nelson Street • Follow the crossing guards for safe crossing • Cross the street at the crosswalk and stay between the lines • Walk on the sidewalk • Show respect for our neighbors and their property • Report any safety issues to school staff and your family • Voice Level – 0, 1, or 2

Arrival and Dismissal Respect-Orderand Safety-Attitude-Responsibility • Arrive to school between 8:00 and 8:15 a.m. • Walk the path until the whistle blows to line up • Bring in all of your belongings from outside • Remove hats and hoods when you enter the building • After 8:15 a.m., tardy students use the front door • Walk out of the building with your teacher • Leave the playground promptly at dismissal • Voice Level – 0, 1, or 2

  4. Lining Up Respect-Orderand Safety-Attitude-Responsibility • Follow adult directions • Stay in line order • Walk single file and face front • Hands and feet to yourself • Voice Level - 0

Hallways/Stairs Respect-Orderand Safety-Attitude-Responsibility • WALK single file, face front and stay to the right • Listen to adult directions • Walk on stairs one step at a time and use the railings appropriately • Only staff can open outside doors • Always carry a pass when not with an adult • Hands and feet to yourself and away from walls • Voice Level - 0

  6. Classroom Respect-Orderand Safety-Attitude-Responsibility Library, gym, music room, computer lab and other places we learn • Follow ALL classroom rules • Enter and leave the room using line basics • Use materials and time appropriately • Keep your belongings and area organized • Sit using body basics • Always do your best • Students may not be in a classroom without staff supervision • Voice Level - 0, 1, or 2

Bathroom/Restroom Respect-Orderand Safety-Attitude-Responsibility • Respect yours and others’ privacy • Put toilet paper in the toilet, flush the toilet • Wash hands with soap and water • Use sink, soap and dryers appropriately • Report any problems or issues immediately • No playing • Voice Level - 0 or 1

Playground/Recess Respect-Orderand Safety-Attitude-Responsibility • Follow all playground rules during all recesses • Follow all adult directions • Include others and share equipment • Keep hands and feet to yourself • Walk to line up in assigned order when the whistle sounds • Voice Level - 2 or 3

Lunchroom/Cafeteria Respect-Orderand Safety-Attitude-Responsibility • Enter and stay in line order • Follow all adult directions • Always WALK • Pick up after yourself • Use good manners, say please and thank you • Stay at your assigned table spot • Keep hands and feet to yourself • Voice Level - 0

Bus & Field Trips Respect-Orderand Safety-Attitude-Responsibility • Listen to the adults in charge • Follow the bus driver’s rules • Represent your family, school, and teacher with pride • Follow the rules of the school on any excursion away from school • Report any problems to an adult promptly • Use kind words and good manners • Voice Level - 0 or 1

Office and Nurse Respect-Orderand Safety-Attitude-Responsibility • Wait patiently • Use kind words and good manners • Bring a pass • Return directly to class • Make good choices and take responsibility for your actions • Accept consequences without arguing or complaining • Voice Level – 0 or 1
