Free Baseball • This book is about a Cuban boy named Felix Piloto who loves baseball. • He loves baseball because his Dad, Claudio de la Portilla , is a professional player in Cuba. • The book mainly takes place in the baseball stadium for a minor league team named The Miracle in Florida. • Felix hides in their bus after they play a team in his home town East Naples.

3. Free Baseball • During the story, Felix becomes the bat boy for The Miracle • Throughout the story he learns about his Dad who plays in Cuba which is why he feels close to the team. • Felix becomes with the mascot named Homer who is a golden retriever.

4. Free Baseball • His mom eventually finds out that he ran away to be with the team. • She later tells him the true story of how his family tried to run away to the United States, but his Dad was caught. • In the end, Felix and his Mom move to West Lauderdale to work for the team.

5. Free Baseball • The character I can identify with is Felix because we both like baseball. • My favorite part of the book was when Felix and his mom moved with the team when she got the job. • The book had a happy ending even though he didn’t find his Dad.

6. Sue Corbett • Sue Corbett was born in New York • She now lives in Miami and has 2 boys and a girl. • She also reviews children’s books.
