  3. Photoreceptors • Rods are responsible for detecting objects in dim light – black and white. • Cones are responsible for detecting objects in bright light – colors – red, green, and blue.

  4. Hyperopia • Farsightedness • Image shows up behind the retina – eye is too short

  5. Myopia • Nearsightedness • Image shows up in front of the retina – eye is too long

  6. Presbyopia • Oldsightedness • Lens looses its ability to focus on objects – can’t see objects up close
