  2. What is Fitness Gram? • State wide test • Each score is evaluated against criterion-referenced • Indicate levels of fitness corresponding with health. • Results for boys and girls • Based on age

  3. Who has to do Fitness Gram Testing? • All students from the grade levels K-12 • The amount given varies from age groups

  6. Five Components • aerobic capacity • body composition • muscular strength • endurance • flexibility

  7. Pacer Test • Also known as beep test. • Lines placed either 15 or 20 meters apart. • The test involves continuous running between the two lines in time to recorded beeps. • The time between recorded beeps decrease each minute • Continue until unable to keep pace with the beeps. • There are a total of 21 levels, which would take approximately 21 minutes to complete.

  8. What does the pacer test do? • Measures your cardiovascular endurance • Test your ability to stay on pace • Stay in shape.

  9. Curl-Up • Lay down on mat • Hands down by your sides • On cue lift body to reach fingers past tape • One re-due • Will have partner

  10. How does a Curl-Up benefit me? • Measures abdominal strength and endurance • Back support • Core stability

  11. Push-Up • Lay face down on mat • Arms shoulder with apart • On cue drop body down and push up when buzzard sounds • Must be full push up not on knees • One re-due • 75 is highest amount

  12. But I can’t do a push- up? • Its all about effort • You may do the Flex arm hang or pull up test • It takes practice

  13. Trunk Lift • Lay flat on stomach • Will have a ruler to measure • Lift from trunk not lifting feet off the ground • Partner will measure your success

  14. What is a trunk lift? • Measures trunk extensor strength • Flexibility • Endurance

  15. Sit and Reach • Sit down with feet inside the measuring box • Lock thumbs together • Bend at the hips • Reach finger tips toward the numbers without bending knees • Get two tries

  16. Can’t even touch my toes… • Flexibility takes time and practice • Stretch every morning before starting the day • You may not get a high score first • Post- test redeem yourself This feels quite lovely…..

  17. Purpose • To achieve personal goals • Understand the value of fitness • Healthier lifestyles

  18. Goals • There is a pre-test and a post test. • Try to beat your prier scores. • To become physically and mentally healthier throughout the year. • To help with your own achievements as a student.

  19. Grading • There is no grading sheet for the Gram fitness test. • Its based on effort and goals.
