He served two terms as the 43rd President of the United States, first elected on November 7, 2000, and again in August for his second term. A member of the Republican Party, he grew up in Texas and is the son of George H.W. Bush, the 41st President. A notable figure in American politics, Bush faced significant challenges during his presidency, including the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. He is married to Laura Bush and has two daughters, Jenna and Barbara.
