  3. Example • Martin Luther King, Jr. • We will start by filling in a K-W-H-L. • Now, let’s read Martin’s Big Words. • Who can tell us about Martin Luther King, Jr.? Describe him. Character traits? • Let’s add what we have learned to the K-W-H-L. • Using this information, fill in the Web.

  4. Writing from an Image Let’s use our knowledge and the information from the book to write about this picture of Martin Luther King, Jr. What do we think has happened? Why would this have happened?

  5. Your Turn! With a partner, use your K-W-H-L and your Web to write about this image of MLK.
