What is Yammer? • Enterprise Social Network Service launched in 2008 • Yammer is used for private communication within organizations or between pre-determined organizational groups (IE: Sales, Marketing, Account Services) • Differs from other social networks in that it is not public-facing • If Twitter asks: “What are you doing?” then Yammer asks: “What are you working on?” • Similar look and feel as Facebook • Only those with an appropriate email address can join the network • As of Sept 2010: • 3 Million Users • 80,000 Companies Worldwide, 80% of the Fortune 500
