  2. SIDLING (V.) • Definition: • Moving sideways in a sly manner (p. 700). • Example Sentence • Sue jumped when I came sidling up to surprise them.

  3. Acquire (V.) • Definition: • Get, obtain • Example Sentence: • Nigel tried to acquire a Texas accent when he lived in Waco.

  4. Rituals (N.) • Definition: Practice done at regular times (p. 705). • Example Sentences: • A July 4th barbeque is a holiday ritual.

  5. Resurgence (N.) • Definition: • Reappearance, revival • Example Sentence: • Interest in solar power has seen a resurgence.

  6. Legacy (N.); • Definition: • Something physical or spiritual handed down from an ancestor • Example Sentence: • Norman’s legacy will be the number of lives he touched.
