The Hoover High School PT3 project aims to enhance learning experiences through assistive technology. Our initiatives focus on raising awareness, providing training, and fostering cooperation among teachers and students. Key goals include expanding the learning lab, equipping it with essential software, and ensuring that educators and students are well-versed in using these tools. By identifying students who would benefit from assistive technology and implementing tailored strategies, we strive to promote inclusivity, enhance academic success, and open doors for all learners to achieve their full potential.

Project Goals • Expand the Learning Lab • Provide software for the Lab • Train teachers to use the software • Work with student teachers in their knowledge and use of assistive technology • Identify students who would benefit from assistive technology • Work with identified students in the learning lab

Wynn (study skill tool,scans tests,books, reads aloud,highlights) Co-writer ( a word prediction writing program) Start to Finish Book Series (books read by the computer with comprehension assessments) Inspiration (diagramming and web creation to help organize ideas and information) Plato (graduation exit exam review Clicker (a visual -talking word processing program) Software Available

  7. Teacher Training • Met in the lab and demonstrated new software available • Identified students who would benefit from the software • Brainstormed ideas for using assistive technology with their classes

  8. Student Teacher Training • Met with Dr. Nelson to discuss program • Met with students to demonstrate software in lab • Students met with teachers and other students

  9. Worked with students in the learning lab Helped to use Assistive Technology to better access their curriculum Completed visual learning tools for their classes Student Training
