Process to request ANGEL account for ANGEL account ready in October • Training focus on experienced Blackboard users who are moving to ANGEL • Continue to use existing WAOL processes (WAOL ID numbers, Intent to Teach forms, etc.)

  7. ELC ANGEL Accounts • All ELCs have an instructor-level account with a practice classroom • Notification was sent to the email address in the college ELC MyWAOL account, so update your email address if you didn’t get a notification from WAOL ANGEL • ELC accounts will be changed to administrator-level accounts in Phase Two

  8. Instructor Accounts in ANGEL • October 8--Creating ANGEL instructor accounts with practice classroom for all instructors who were active on WAOL Blackboard since Fall 07 • All accounts will be created with the WAOL prefix waol_ first initial last name • These are practice classrooms that are not linked to any existing WAOL classrooms

  9. Instructor Accounts (cont) • October 8—College ELCs will receive a flat file that can be used to create instructor accounts in WAOL ANGEL. • The user IDs created by these files will have the college prefix (bates_first initial last name….yvc_first initial last name) • Be aware of the potential confusion when some instructors get multiple accounts. • Practice classrooms are not named for teaching—teaching classrooms will be designated by quarter/year.

  10. Instructor Accounts (cont) • We are in the design stage for a self-registration so faculty can get an ANGEL account and practice classroom using a coupon code that will be managed by college ELCs.

  11. Course Migration—October 24 • October 24—Instructors teaching on WAOL ANGEL for Winter 09 will receive a named classroom for Winter • WHO will be teaching on ANGEL Winter 09? • All instructors with system-owned shared classrooms • Fall pilot instructors if they choose • New pilot instructors

  12. Winter 09 PilotDeadline October 24 • The course must have a WAOL ID number. • The instructor must complete an Intent to Teach form for Winter 09, and that form must be approved by the college. • The ELC must send an email to Monique mkovalenko@sbctc.edu that includes • Name of instructor • WAOL ID number • Instructor email address • (Not necessary for system-owned shared instructors—We’ll know who they are!)

  13. Content Migration • Instructors can export Blackboard (or other CMS) content from existing classrooms and migrate into ANGEL classroom • OR they can build the new ANGEL classroom by bringing over content piece by piece • WAOL staff will help if faculty have trouble exporting content, but it’s easy.

  14. Training Update • The job announcement to rehire a faculty trainer will be published this week. • Boyoung has developed materials that will be available on http://www.waol.org • But we’re going to need help to get all system-owned shared instructors trained by December 08. • Additional materials • Training/orientation sessions in Elluminate • Regional face-to-face training
