Commissioning continues • Flammable gas is on since Feb 1, 2-person watch shifts started Jan 22 • Cosmics taken since Feb 4, ongoing when there is no beam • IR closed up since 8th • Test runs with all (~20) subsystems • Full 5-person shifts as of today • - No beam: collect cosmics • Beam: subsystem checks, ‘junk runs’ to maintain system readiness • Collisions: time in subsystems (BBC, ZDC, TOF…) Hubert van Hecke - 26 Feb 13

  3. Criteria for start-of-physics • 109 bunches in the machine • Longitudinal polarization established, <5% transverse component • >=55% polarization at the start of the store • Beta* = 0.65 • >1*1011 protons/bunch Hubert van Hecke - 26 Feb 13
