  2. History ● ● ● ● First developed by DC Comics for a team of superheroes known as the Justice League. Began in comics books in the 1940s Inspired by feminists who were looking for a strong female character In the mid 1970s the character was played by Lynda Carter for a tv show

  3. The DC Universe ● ● ● It is a fictional universe created by Warner Brothers It includes Wonder woman, Batman, Superman and the Flash. The biggest rival is the Marvel Universe which includes Spiderman and the Fantastic Four with many of the characters created by Stan Lee. Their movies amount to the highest grossing film series of all time.

  4. Wonder Woman 2017 ● ● ● The film began production in the late 1990s An early script was written by Joss Whedon but he left the project In 2008 a new script was written but by 2015 another script was penned to star the actress Gal Gadot

  5. Costs and Profit ● ● ● Budget - $120 million It grossed $820 million It became the highest grossing film with a solo female lead.

Production & Marketing ● ● There was merchandising with toys and female products to emphasise the female strength There were some concerns that less money was spent on marketing as compared to other comic book films with male characters. The trailer features the strong superhero deflecting bullets and trying to stop war. ●
