  2. apprentice • Noun • Someone training with an experienced person • “It’s from Star Wars……A Padawan is a Jedi apprentice.”

  3. motivate • Verb • To make someone interested and willing • “…. A precept is any saying or ground rule that can motivate you.”

  4. contagious • Adjective • Able to be passed or spread by contact, as with an illness, disease, or idea • They would take the longest way around me to avoid bumping into me in any way, ….. Like my face was contagious.”

  5. mortality • Noun • Death rate; certainty to die; rate of failure; human beings • The things we do outlast our mortality. Auggie’shw to explain one of Mr. Browne’s precepts.

  6. aversion • Noun • A strong dislike; someone or something disliked • I have an aversion to having my picture taken.

  11. instantaneous • Adjective • Immediate; sudden; without waiting • When we flipped the switch, the lights came on instantaneously.

  12. irk • Verb • To annoy or bother; to trouble or vex • Julian’s rude comments began to irk almost everyone around him.
