Use complex sentences! These are too simple! Don’talways use these.... • Sam walked to the door. • Sam opened the door. • Sam stood still. • He saw the beast. Tryusing more of these... Sam walked to the door and opened it carefully. Sam stood still when he saw the beast until they could stand it no longer!
Check your punctuation!!! • Make sure that ALL sentences start with a capital letterand end with a full stop. • Use ??? and !!! • Use “speech marks” when people are speaking. • Use capital letters for Proper Nouns... • Australia • Mrs. • Fountain Street

Most of all..... MAKE SURE YOUR STORY MAKES SENSE!!! Read it back to yourself and think... ‘Does this make sense??’
