Each year, around 1 million teenagers in the U.S., particularly about 10 percent of all 15-19 year-old women, experience pregnancy. Alarmingly, only 13 percent of these pregnancies are intended. Among these pregnancies, approximately one-third result in abortion, while 14 percent end in miscarriage. The remaining 52 percent continue to term. This data highlights significant issues surrounding contraception, education, and support for teen mothers, emphasizing the need for effective interventions to reduce unintended pregnancies and improve outcomes for adolescents.
