Questions from Meeting #1 • Relating to the capacity of surrounding schools, should students be relocated; will the area schools exceed their capacity due to the consolidation or closure of schools? • Has the Board taken into consideration the new housing being built within the zones of the schools in question? • Is it possible that the funds provided by the Ministry of Education be utilized in another manner other than what was intended, to rebuild or renovate a school? • If the consolidation of St. Bernard and St. Pius X, where will the combined school be built? • Will the new school have adequate green space for twice the amount of students? • Is the Board taking into consideration the length of time students will travel on buses, parking concerns and the dangers associated with traffic, i.e.: visibility, volume, etc.

  6. Full Day Learning for 4 & 5 year olds • Province announced full day program for JK/SK • Phase in over 5 years • 2010-11 BHNCDSB has 7 classrooms • 2011-12 BHNCDSB has 4 classrooms • Max class size = 26 with one teacher and one ECE
