  3. In Motion We are in phase 2 of our In Motion program Our Catalyst team consists of Mrs. Oak, Ms. Artiga, Mrs Delmage, Xyrus Smith, Elise Melanson, Jordan Usher and Maguire Abell Since implementing In Motion (DPA) in our school behaviour problems have decreased. Student awareness and knowledge of the need for physical activity has become greater, especially in the middle years. The physical fitness of all students has increased. In grade 7/8 instead of playing games, we have focused on increasing our stamina by running , and doing stations including push press, burpies and weighted squats.

  4. Take the Lead Take the Lead involves the grade 7/8 students planning and running recess games for all students in the school, including mini-stick hockey, parachute, and even a indoor hockey league for the 5/6’s and 7/8’s. Due to St. Mary’s temporarily not having a play structure at the beginning of the year, our 7/8 class gave up every recess for the month of September to teach children games. Due to our involvement with the students, there was no time for misbehaviour.
