Improving Production Layout: From Current State to Future Optimization
This document explores the transformation of the current production layout into a future optimized version. The current layout lacks a global coordinate system and includes multiple overlapping bodies and duplicates, resulting in a file size of 176 MB. In contrast, the future layout will utilize a global coordinate system, eliminate duplicates, and reduce the file size to approximately 100 MB. Key benefits include streamlined work orders based on manufacturer routing, improved real-time accuracy, enhanced efficiency, and more precise cost management.

Few Notes to Consider: • Current Production layout has not a set global coordinate system; Future layout is set to a global coordinate system • Current Production layout has at least 4 bodies overlapping one another along with other duplicates; Future layout has no duplicate • Current Production layout file size = 176 MB; Future layout file size = 100 MB (with further cleanup on layout expect file size to drop even more)
Other Downstream Benefits • Streamlined WO’s (structured based on mfr routing) • More accurate real time • More precise efficiency • “Real” cost
