  2. Sprain • DEFINITION • Stretching of a joint or ligament • SYMPTOMS • Sever pain, Swelling, Difficulty moving • TREATMENT • R.I.C.E.

  3. Dislocation • DEFINITION • End of a bone is forced out of a joint • SYMPTOMS • Extreme pain in the joint • TREATMENT • Keep very still. Seek medical help.

  4. Bruise • DEFINITION • Contusion • Injury to tissue under the skin • SYMPTOMS • Black & Blue, Tender, Discoloration • TREATMENT • Apply Ice

  5. Strain • DEFINITION • Overworked Muscle • SYMPTOMS • Soreness from overexertion • TREATMENT • Rest, Apply Heat

  6. Pulled Muscle • DEFINITION • Muscle is separated or torn from its point of attachment • SYMPTOMS • Severe Pain • TREATMENT • Apply Ice, Seek Medical Attention

  7. Muscle Cramp • DEFINITION • Muscle contracts tightly and doesn’t relax • SYMPTOMS • Tightening pain in a specific muscle • TREATMENT • Massage, Apply Heat

  8. Hernia • DEFINITION • Rupture, Tear, or Weak Area in your Abdomen • SYMPTOMS • Severe Pain, Organ Protrusion • TREATMENT • Rest, Possibly Surgery

  9. Heat Exhaustion • DEFINITION • Body becomes overheated due to loss of large amounts of water • SYMPTOMS • Pale, moist skin, dizziness • TREATMENT • Move to a cool place, lie down, lower head

  10. Heat Stroke • DEFINITION • Prolonged exposure to extreme heat and sunlight • SYMPTOMS • Dry, hot skin, rapid pulse, difficulty breathing • TREATMENT • Move to a cool place, loosen clothing, call ambulance

  11. Frostbite • DEFINITION • Tissue freeze due to prolonged exposure to extreme freezing temperatures • SYMPTOMS • Numbness in extremities (nose, chin, cheeks fingers toes) • TREATMENT • Warm gradually, watch for shock
