Microbial Diversity and Correlation Across Different Body Sites in Diverse Populations

This study examines the microbial composition across various body sites, including the anterior nares, buccal mucosa, and vaginal introitus, comparing data between men and women in non-Hispanic/Latino populations from St. Louis and Houston. Notably, significant Pearson correlation values highlight the relationships among microbial communities, with relative abundances of genera such as Prevotella, Ruminococcus, and Bacteroides being analyzed. These findings contribute to our understanding of microbiome variations related to BMI and gender across diverse populations.
