  4. RIO 2016 Masterplan The Masterplan Rio 2016 was prepared with the vision of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement and together with the three levels of governments, seeking the integration of the project in a long term planning for Rio de Janeiro and for Brazil.

Economic impact study Games budget: U.S. $ 14.4 billions according to the dossier: where U.S. $ 2.8 billion are from the Organizing Committee (Game’s planning and delivering) and U.S. $ 11.6 billion are public and private resources (City, State and Country infrastructure and public services).   8. Economic impact study • The impact in the Brazilian economy will be of $ 51.1 billion (a multiplier of 4.26 production) from 2009 to 2027. • This means that for each dolar invested on the Games, the private sector will invest US$ 3,26 on the supply chain. Source: FIA/FIPE

Economic impact study • From 2009 to 2016 the impact on output (gross production value) in the country will be $ 24.6 billion. • From 2017 to 2027 the impact on output will be $ 26.5 billion, considering investments forecasted on the bid of $ 14.4 billion and the rate of two reais to one U.S. dollar.   10. Economic impact study • The estimated impact on Brazil's GDP is U.S. $ 11 billion during the period of 2009 to 2016, while in the period 2017 to 2027 is $ 13.5. Source: FIA/FIPE

  11. Economic impact study • A growth in the number of jobs in this period, especially in construction. The contributions of U.S. $ 14.4 billion would result in 120,833 people employed directly and indirectly per year between 2009 and 2016, and 130,970 people per year between 2017 and 2027. • More than half of the payroll (50.9%) and the employment (53.1%) generated by the sporting event would benefit people who live beyond the borders of Rio, as well as significant share of GDP (41.6%) and production (47%).   12. Economic impact study It was identified 55 economic sectors that could most benefit from the completion of the mega event. They are: • construction (10.5%) • real estate and rental services (6.3%) • services supplies to companies (5.7%) • Oil and gas (5.1%) • information services (5%) • transport, storage and mail (4.8%).
