  2. Deborah A Jack 809100451 It is my belief that children are our foundation for future development. This simply means that we cannot become and function as the adults we are without going through each stage of our childhood. The basic knowledge that we gain and use in adulthood is the knowledge that we have learnt in our early experiences as a child and thus it as a result of such experiences, we are able to elevate ourselves to the next experience at the next level of development. Therefore childhood is a paramount aspect of our holistic development as humans.

  3. Every child should be given the right to an education and free expression of their intellectuality and emotional straints. As any adult person, each child has a right: the right to live, the right to be love and show love, the right to give, the right to education, to freedom of expression, to freedom of choice, to freedom of speech and other rights that are not mentioned. As educators, we should encourage each right in an appropriate manner, in our teaching styles. Children are valuable to the world at large today and as such, much attention should be given to each child. Each child should be afforded the opportunity in activating their rights and enforcing them. Therefore it is our duty as educators, parents and guardians to help each child understand that they are entitled to rights and what is the appropriate method of enforcing such rights. The task will be difficult, as the audience is comprised of children, it is our duty to ensure that they know.

  4. Not every child can be given the same learning opportunity as others. In many ways, each child differs from the other. In our growing world, we must consider our special needs students who cannot but do a few things for themselves. As every other child, these children do as well have rights and should be given the same opportunities as any other child. They should be afforded the opportunity to education, life, love, expression and others as briefly mentioned and not mentioned. Every setting should be equipped with the necessary technology that can best facilitate each child with his/her disability. I belief that it is the responsibility of the adults, may it be from the home to the school to the wider community then the nation, to facilitate, nurture, care, love, protect, shelter, communicate, listen with and to every child.

  5. Children should not be abused and mistreated. Though the argument of corporal punishment is still to be determined, I believe that every child should be dealt with in a manner that does not deteriorate his/her self-esteem and lower his/her independency level. We should help each child to build on his/her moral standards and ethics. We should encourage and promote their learning through play and help them understand the importance of moral and values in every aspect of their lives.
