  1. LINEUP CARD (DP)/FLEX Rule: The role of the offensive player is never terminated. It is now possible for a team to go from 10 to nine and back to 10 players any number of times during the game. The DP and the FLEX now also have the option of playing defense at the same time.

  2. LINEUP CARD Rule 3, Section 3 Article 6… (a) & (b) • DP and FLEX must be specified prior to the start of the game. • The FLEX player must be identified in the 10 position.

  3. LINEUP CARD Rule 3, Section 3 Article 6… (c) • The DP may bat in any order but must remain at that same position in the batting order for the entire game. Locked Position

  4. LINEUP CARD Rule 3, Section 3 Article 6… (d) • The DP may be substituted for by a legal substitute. • The DP can then re-enter, the same as any other starter.

  5. LINEUP CARD Rule 3, Section 3 Article 6… (d) 1. • The DP may leave the game and have the FLEX bat in their position. • The DP can then re-enter, the same as any other starter.

  6. LINEUP CARD Rule 3, Section 3 Article 6… (d) 2. • The starting DP, or a legal substitute may re-enter in the DP spot in the line-up and the FLEX can return to the 10 position.

  7. LINEUP CARD Rule 3, Section 3 Article 6… (e) • The DP may play defense at any position. If for a player other than the FLEX, that player will continue to bat and is not considered to have left the game…

  8. LINEUP CARD Rule 3, Section 3 Article 6… (e) cont. • If the DP plays defense for the FLEX, the FLEX is considered to have left the game.

  9. LINEUP CARD Rule 3, Section 3 Article 6… (f) • The FLEX may be substituted for at any time by a legal substitute…

  10. LINEUP CARD Rule 3, Section 3 Article 6… (f) cont. • The DP may play defense for the FLEX at anytime, in which case the FLEX is considered to have left the game. [This was also discussed in paragraph (e).]

  17. LINEUP CARD (DP)/FLEX Rule Review • DP and FLEX may be playing defense at the same time. • DP and FLEX may not be playing offense at the same time.

  18. LINEUP CARD (DP)/FLEX Rule Review • If announced before the game, the FLEX position may ‘go away’ and then ‘come back’.
