  1. Graphing Linear EquationsByMorgan

  2. Graphing linear equations equation Graphing a linear equation isn’t hard all you need to know is this: y=mx+b. This allows you to find the points to graph the equation. If you understand this equation you can graph this way. Accountants make graphs using this equation to show income. Engineers, carpenters, and architects use it to build and plan. Professors and teachers teach this to there students. And finally programmers use this to plan out how a computer or game will work.

  3. Importance to Algebra Graphing linear equations Is important to Algebra. Why? You can find the slope of many things like a ramp or a roof. This is important to people who build things like carpenters and architects. Programmers use it to determine the way a chip should work, like lining up the paths the program in the chip should take. So, when you think of graphing linear equations you know that it does have some sort of importance to your life if you choose one of the following careers.

  4. Jobs There are many jobs that use graphing linear equations like: • Programming • Carpentering • Business Analyst • Architect • Accountant • Mechanical Engineer • Professors and Teachers • And many others

  5. Lets say that an architect wants to make a roof that slopes at a certain angle. He uses the y=mx+b graphing equation to plan the slope of the roof. He wants the roof to slant at 2 to the right and half down, which would be written as ½/2. The y=8 so the equation would look like y=½/2x+8. This would show the roofs slant and see if it is the right angle. The equation is correct so he would have the appropriate slope for the roof and can complete the roof.(graph on next slide) Real Life Example
