  1. Advertisement Analysis By Joey Bartlett

  2. Cadbury’s Advertisement • This advert shows two children, a girl and a boy sat in a photography studio, when the phone rings the photographer leaves the studio to answer the phone. The girl and the boy both give one another a mischievous look then the boy looks down at his watch and presses a button. This is when the song begins to play and the girl and the boy both start to move their eyebrows. This advert suggests that the children looked quite bored before the photographer went and when he’d gone out the children started to have fun and entertain themselves which suggests that you can have fun and be mischievous when people aren’t around. • This advert is aimed at both males and females all age; this is because it entertains lots of different people and not just one target audience. This may help to sell the product because the advert is targeted at more than one audience therefore the product will hopefully sell more. It is not obvious what is being advertised until the end of the advert when the product is revealed which is good because throughout the advert it leaves the audience wondering what the advert is advertising so it makes the audience wait until the end of the advert. • This advert might appear before the watershed on television so younger children can view the advert or it may also appear in-between soaps to allow a wider range of audiences to view it. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ion8qyu2Z4M

  3. Personalized Format • My personalized format advert was for the BiC pen. The advert was based in an exam where two people were taking the exam. During the advert one of the two boys normal biro pens stops working, he then pulls out a BiC pen . He then continues to write his exam fluently and confidently, much like the other character who was using our advertised product in the first place. • What this tells the audience is that any other standard pen is unreliable and will let you down when you need it most. This sets off a trigger to our audience telling them that if any other product is used, it would probably break or run out. Our advert relates to our audience by applying it to a real life everyday context in which every person in the UK has to endure, this is effective because if shown to a mass audience then our initial message will be conveyed and hopefully by using these techniques our advertisement will work. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxkm9za9y2c

  4. Drink Driving Advertisement • In 2010 this advert involving a pub land lord and a customer was released to aware people about the consequences of drink driving. This advert shows how your life can turn around completely by going even slightly over the limit. It shows what punishment you will receive, how you can lose your job and have to sell your car to earn money, then being unhappy because of having an extra pint before he went home. • This advert is clearly about drink driving awareness and how it can affect someone’s life so easily. In the beginning of the advert, the customer is happily walking up to the bar to order another drink, then the land lord acts out all the stages of being caught which makes the customer weary whether or not to have that second drink. This advert is aimed at people over the age of 18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwHoOJazEMQ
