New Teachers are Supported Through: Orientation / Mentorship / Job Embedded Learning • Summer Institute for Beginning Teachers • • Beginning Teachers are led in 29 Grade/Home Groups by experienced teachers and Instructional Leaders regarding classroom set up and first day/first week/first month planning for instruction • Job Embedded Learning Initiative (JELI) • • Up to 3 days (total) release time is provided for 1st and 2nd Year teachers for school-based professional learning with Mentors, Demonstration Classroom learning and central professional learning sessions (2 total days provided for newly hired LTOs)

  21. Hiring Process 1. What happens after you have submitted your teacher application? • Application packages will be reviewed • If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted by telephone • Interview process will commence in February

  22. Hiring Process 2. What happens after the interview? You will receive a letter after your interview indicating whether or not you have been successful for the Eligible To Hire list. Recommendations for the Eligible to Hire list are based on the results of your interview, reference checks and teacher evaluation reports.

  23. Hiring Process 3. Eligible To Hire Candidates • Successful candidates will be placed on the Eligible to Hire list and may be contacted by administrators to discuss school vacancies.
