  12. civil • Adjective • courteous and polite • We tried to be civil to her, but she refused to be in the same room as us.

  13. Mutiny • noun • an open uprising against the proper authorities • The mutiny caused by the colonists in 1776 allowed the United States to eventually become it’s own country.

  14. Fatal • Adjective • causing death • In The Princess Bride, Vacinni drinks the fatal poison Wesley offers him.

  17. strife • Noun • angry disagreement over fundamental issues

  18. continuance • Noun • the time for which a situation or action lasts • He continued to study throughout the continuance of his high school career.

  20. Augmenting • verb • make (something) greater by adding to it; increase • He augmented his summer income by painting houses.

  21. Draw • noun • an act of removing a gun or sword from its holster in order to use. • Draw your sword so we can fight.

  22. Tyrant • noun • a person exercising power or control in a cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary way. • Her boss was a tyrant and a bully.

  23. Brawling • verb • To fight or quarrel in a rough or noisy way • The group began brawling when there was a disagreement over what movie to watch.

  24. Vile • adjective • extremely unpleasant. • He has a vile temper.
