Clarifying the alphabet soup (III) • DPL – Development Policy Lending • More in first session • Previously known as adjustment lending • Operational Policy 8.60 revised in August 2004 • Change in the way that environmental aspects are handled • SEA and CEA are key analytical tools for policy implementation

Workshop Objectives • Learn from recent experiences with CEAs and SEAs and develop our thinking on how these tools can effectively be used to integrate environment into country strategies and programs • Learn about the revisions to OP 8.60 and how DPLs can be used to strengthen institutions in order to promote sustainable development

Workshop Agenda • Session I: Understand implications of revised OP/BP 8.60 • Session II: Role of SEA in mainstreaming environmental concerns into policy dialogue and country programs • Session III: Lessons from CEAs in mainstreaming environmental concerns into policy dialogue and country programs • Session IV: DPLs as tools for environmental institutional reform • Cocktail Reception in MC 12 Gallery from 6 pm
